I Have a problem

I have a problem. Yes. With the people who smoke; especially who smoke in the public places.

Somehow, I indirectly inhale that smoke. It is affecting my health. May be the smoker is not concerned about his health but I am about my health. I try to move away from such people but every time I cannot do it. Like if I’m in a bus stop waiting for bus and a group of people smoke, I still have to wait for bus to arrive and cannot move away to a greater distance.

I have a problem. Yes. With the people who litter in public, People who spit on the road often. I hate that indecency and lack of common sense to not to spit in the public. I do not want to see people throwing waste on the road. There are dustbin installed but still they throw waste papers, plastics everywhere on the road.

I have a problem, with the people who honk unnecessarily while riding bikes. Its irritating for me .

I have a problem with the people who cut trees. One side we talk about global warming and other side we cut down the trees. I do not understand this mentality of people. Let the trees be there. What has it done to you? It gives us fresh oxygen, Regulates temperature.i love greenery .

OK question to you folks. What do you do in these scenarios?

  1. Oh yes! I too have the same problem. In a normal world, I would have told them not to smoke in public. But I fear they might retort using really abusive languages and dirty words for which I don’t even know what to reply. I may not even know the meaning.
I’m sorry to say and I don’t know if it is the same everywhere. But here abusive languages are used like greetings.

Once I saw a guy urinating and I splashed muddy water at him and went. That was all I could do.
I shouted at a lorry driver who spat while driving and he apologised.

The only part I can do is not to throw tickets and waste on the way. That, I am doing.

    1. i myself refrain from throwing waste on the road . and well i tell my cab driver or auto driver not to smoke while driving . that’s all i could do .

  2. First of all I recall that I cannot control others. I can only be a role model and do what I think is right. The difficulty with problems is: When you have a problem with someone then who is the one that has the problem? Who is the one that suffers and is angry? The other person doesn’t have a problem. There is a saying: Being angry means suffering for other people’s mistakes… 😉

    1. Thanks Erika for the insights . well you are right in stating that we cannot control others and in each of the scenarios i mentioned here i’m helpless. i cannot say a smoker to not smoke .but i cant take the dirty smoke inside either .so i just move away. i cannot clean roads or tell them not to litter , its their responsibility as a citizen to keep it clean and they should themselves understand that . best thing i do is myself not throwing any waste on the road. so even though i have a problem best thing i can do it not to do those mistake myself . 🙂

    1. isn’t it ?? we have clean and green revolutions going on in many part of the world . what did we learn ?? its all for our well being right. people have to realise the importance of it 🙂 thank you friend

  3. I’ve got the same problem! Whenever I find someone doing such things, I do go up to the person and explain my point in vain mostly. 😦
I hope one day these people will eventually become a little less selfish. 😦

    1. People anyway don’t have patience to listen . they carry this who-the-hell-are-you kind of attitude.. So I generally avoid telling them and stay away and do right thing as much as possible

  4. You can’t do much about the ones who smoke…I don’t and i have to avoid them somehow.

The litter problem can be overcome though through education and strict laws.

  5. It’s really hard for me not to speak sharply to those who smoke on the playground. I speak up everytime and chase ’em out. There is technically a city ordinance here, a fine for those who do this within a certain distance of the playground.

Once my boy, when he was about 5, said, “Mom, can you yell at him? He’s smoking here.”
    LOL. Oops.

    1. Thank u so much for response. Yeah I tried chasing them out but not possible every time. Here Also rule is there .. But people don’t follow .. While smoking..

  6. I usually avoid those people!
One of my friend also attempted these practices but after some time he left them.
Anywho, you just wrote something that everybody wants to read.

  7. Sometimes I feel to go away from them for a while and let them move on. Just now while I faced same issue, a stupid guy among the crowd, he just pushed away everyone and was smoking.I just let him go and waited to he move on.
About tree, hmm that’s a global issue, everyone should be careful before cutting the tree 🙂

    1. Spitting is not a problem u can . but spitting and littering everywhere on the road is what I dislike. How do u like spitting everywhere in ur room ? Doesn’t it look dirty?? Well that’s why I said I have a problem . it may not be the same to everyone . thank you 🙂

      1. To me other people farting is terrible, especially when they are sweaty in a crowded bus.

      2. See 😉 We all have different problems . something which we cannot go against them and tell them not to do . of course who can tolerate that in a crowded bus. But you can’t do anything about it . either get out of the bus or close ur nose till our stop comes . isn’t it .. 😉

  8. I have a problem at our local gym by the pool. Men get out and spit on the deck all of the time. It’s just disgusting. Thanks for coming over to visit at my blog. lily:)

  9. Great write. I have a point here, especially about smoking. Many of my friends smoke. It isn’t a public space, but when we are hanging out – they often smoke. I will go as far as to say that the smell of four square is home as my father used to smoke that. What do you do here? A circular dilemma.

    1. Difficult to escape from that smoke . but as its your friends or dad who smoke you can request them to stop for a while . but the same is difficult when u ask strangers to stop .
      U got a good point 🙂
